Russian Railways to auction Moscow-St. Petersburg railway project

Russian Railways (RZhD) is to organise an international tender for the construction of the new high-speed railway between St. Petersburg and Moscow.
The undertaking is offered as a life cycle project, which means that the investor will have to take care of all stages of the project from planning to construction and maintenance. RZhD will begin to repay the investor’s expenses only after the railway has been activated. The contract will be worth €26bn, according to Kommersant.
