The Czech builder PSJ is to become the main contractor for the construction of the Sochi City multipurpose complex for the 2014 Winter Olympics, according to Prague Daily. The company has signed a preliminary agreement and is expected to embark upon the project at the end of February 2010 with the work beginning in March or April.
The Sochi City project involves the construction of 280,000 m² of administrative, retail and residential premises. It includes a retail and leisure centre, two residential buildings, a Chayka-Plaza hotel, a conference centre and a two-level underground car park. The project is thought to be worth €380m and will take 34 months to complete.
