Ministry proposes abolition of cement import duty


2010-01-25



The Ministry of Regional Development has proposed the abolition of the import duty on cement, which currently stands at 5%. The Ministry does not believe that the duty affects the market. At the same time its removal could prevent a new increase in domestic cement prices, which fell significantly in 2009 because of the crisis after two years of rapid growth.
