Government to allocate RUB 40bn to Russian regions for road construction in 2012-2014

The Russian government intends to spend more than RUB 40bn (€1bn) on co-financing the construction and modernisation of state and interregional road systems as part of the federal programme Development of Russian Transit Systems (2010-2015), according to Interfax.
The government will invest RUB 27.3bn (€690m) in the project in 2012. Most of the funds will be spent on the Moscow Province transit system. In addition, the Republic of Mordovia will receive about RUB 4bn (€100m), the Krasnodar Territory – more than RUB 3bn (€75m), the Penza Province and the Republic of Dagestan – around RUB 2bn (€50m).
