Smart Finans Group acquires National hotel in Moscow

Smart Finans Group, which is controlled by the Russian businessman Sait-Salam Gutseriev, has prevailed in the auction for the National hotel in Moscow and has also received permission from Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to buy the structure. The company paid RUB 4.67bn (€115.5m) for the asset. The hotel is a 21,500-m
2 architectural monument in the very centre of Moscow, in front of the Kremlin. It contains 201 22-97-m
2 rooms and is furnished with antique objects which belonged to the family of the Russian tsar.
As
Russian Construction Review reported on a previous occasion, the auction was scheduled for 22 December 2011 and the starting price was RUB 4.58bn (€113.3m).
